Over 12 Lakh Youth Benefited from Rozgar Mela so far.

New Delhi: The 20th edition of the National Rozgar Mela was organized at 45 locations across the country on Saturday, appointment letters were distributed to more than 51,000 newly recruited youth appointed to various government departments and organizations. PM Modi addressed the programme through video conferencing and congratulated the new appointees and their families.

The PM said that the youth are joining government service at an important time when the country is progressing on its development journey towards Viksit Bharat@2047. He highlighted the importance of initiatives such as the National Education Policy, Skill India Mission and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana in providing education and skills to the youth in line with emerging requirements. He said that with the arrival of the festive season, this occasion has brought happiness to thousands of families. He also highlighted India’s growing startup ecosystem and the increasing participation of youth from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities in entrepreneurship and innovation. He called upon the youth to acquire new skills and contribute to India’s development.

In Dehradun, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta distributed appointment letters. Addressing the newly appointed youth, Tamta said that candidates preparing for government examinations often wonder which department they will ultimately get an opportunity to serve in. He congratulated all the candidates receiving appointment letters and said that joining various prestigious government departments marks an important milestone in their careers. He also congratulated the parents and family members present at the programme. He urged the newly appointed youth to join iGOT Karmayogi and continuously enhance their skills. He called upon the youth to contribute to the resolve of Viksit Bharat@2047 through dedication and effective public service.

Around 12.75 lakh appointment letters have been distributed so far through the Rozgar Mela initiative launched in 2022. During the Rozgar Mela held in Dehradun, appointment letters were distributed to a total of 249 newly appointed candidates. These candidates have been selected for various government departments and institutions, including 5 candidates in the Survey of India, 121 candidates in the Income Tax Department under the Ministry of Finance, 53 candidates in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), 30 candidates in the Indian Railways, 20 candidates in the Department of Posts, 18 candidates in the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts/Controller of Defence Accounts, 1 candidate in the Indian Institute of Management, and 1 candidate in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

During the programme, Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted reforms undertaken to make recruitment processes more transparent and fair. He also mentioned initiatives such as the Pratibha Setu portal, aimed at connecting candidates who reach the final stage of the Civil Services selection process but are not selected with potential opportunities in public and private institutions.

The National Rozgar Mela was launched on 22 October 2022 with the objective of facilitating the recruitment of 10 lakh individuals to government positions within a stipulated timeframe. At the first Rozgar Mela, more than 75,000 appointment letters were distributed at 50 locations across the country. With 20 editions now completed, around 12.75 lakh appointment letters have been distributed so far.

The recruitment process has been carried out through established mechanisms and agencies, including the Union Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission and Railway Recruitment Boards. The newly appointed youth have joined various ministries, departments and organizations, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and Ministry of Labor and Employment.

The 20th Rozgar Mela held in Dehradun marked an important milestone for the newly appointed youth, providing them an opportunity to begin their careers in public service and contribute to the nation’s development journey.
